Well what an incredible day it’s been this year! Record crowds have turned out for dawn services all over the country, parades are more diverse than ever, and young people seem to be embracing the history and spirit more and more.
Apart from attending dawn service in Mildura -about 5000 according to Mildura RSL Manager Kim Archibald – I watched Melbourne, Gallipoli and Villers-Bretonneux dawn services. All were carried out in a heartfelt manner and deeply moving.
In all instances it’s a lovely experience to watch this ritual take place commencing in the dark and move through to the point when the sky begins to lighten and the end of the ceremony signals the beginning of the new day.
